From Startup to Co-Packing: How Puro Tepache is Supporting Other Local Brands with Nano Canning Solutions

When I first started Puro Tepache, the goal was simple: to share my passion for a traditional drink with the community, combining my knowledge of microbiology and brewing. What I didn’t expect, though, was how quickly my journey would open doors to new opportunities. We’ve always had a mission to uplift and support our community, but becoming a co-packer for other startups? That wasn’t part of the original plan.

And yet, here we are, now offering nano canning solutions to other small businesses, and I couldn’t be more excited about the new direction we’re heading in.

The Unexpected Opportunity: Becoming a Co-Packer

When we launched Puro Tepache, like most small business owners, I focused on product development, building a brand, and connecting with customers. We invested in a nano-canning line to package our own products, ensuring we could maintain quality and consistency. It was a game-changer for us, allowing our Tepache to reach more people without sacrificing the handcrafted touch we value so much.

What I didn’t anticipate was the amount of interest we’d get from other small businesses looking for canning solutions. Many of them were in the same place I was when I first started: a great product, a strong vision, but no access to small-scale packaging solutions. We quickly realized there was a gap in the market. Local startups were struggling to find co-packers who could handle their small batches while maintaining the quality they worked so hard to achieve.

That’s when it clicked. We had an opportunity not only to grow our own business but to help others do the same.

Giving Back to the Community in a New Way

At Puro Tepache, we’ve always been committed to giving back to the community. It’s at the heart of everything we do. From sourcing local ingredients to collaborating with other small businesses, we’ve tried to uplift others in any way we can. However, becoming a co-packer never crossed our minds—until now.

By offering nano canning solutions, we can provide fellow entrepreneurs with the tools they need to scale their products and enter the market. We understand the challenges they face because we’ve been there ourselves. Canning and packaging can be huge hurdles for startups, and we want to ease that burden for others, allowing them to focus on what really matters: creating amazing products and building their brands.

Why Nano Canning?

For those unfamiliar with the term, nano canning refers to small-batch canning—perfect for startups or businesses that don’t yet have the volume to justify a larger, more traditional co-packing setup. Large-scale canning facilities often have minimum order quantities that are simply too high for newer businesses. Nano canning allows for flexibility, keeping production costs manageable while still delivering high-quality packaging.

At Puro Tepache, we’ve found that our nano-canning line is ideal for businesses like ours—those that are still in the growth phase but need professional packaging to reach more customers. Offering this service to others just made sense.

Creating a Community of Collaboration

One of the most rewarding parts of this new venture has been the opportunity to collaborate with other passionate entrepreneurs. By sharing our canning capabilities, we’re building a network of like-minded business owners, all working to bring unique, high-quality products to the market. It’s inspiring to see the creativity and innovation coming from these local startups.

I’ve always believed that the more we help each other, the stronger our community becomes. It’s no longer just about Puro Tepache; it’s about creating a space where small businesses can thrive together.

Looking Forward: Expanding Our Impact

As we continue offering our nano canning solutions, I can’t help but feel excited about what the future holds. What started as a need for our own business has evolved into a way for us to make an even bigger impact on the local startup scene. We’re not just packaging products; we’re helping other entrepreneurs take that next crucial step in their journeys.

It’s a new chapter for Puro Tepache, one we didn’t expect but are thrilled to embrace. If you’re a small business owner looking for flexible, small-batch packaging, we’d love to work with you. Together, we can keep building the future of local entrepreneurship, one can at a time.

Entrepreneurship is all about growth and adaptation. Sometimes, opportunities arise from the most unexpected places. For us, becoming a co-packer for other startups has allowed us to give back to the community in a whole new way, and we’re eager to see where this path leads.
