Most people are familiar with the juicy interior of a pineapple, but at Puro Tepache, we see value in the often-overlooked rinds. We source these rinds, saving them from heading to the landfill, and use them as the cornerstone of our tepache. In doing so, we give these rinds a second life, transforming them into a delicious drink that celebrates the spirit of traditional Mexican tepache.

Composting Every Byproduct

Once we’ve crafted our tepache, there’s still a bit left over—rinds, cinnamon sticks, and other byproducts. Rather than discarding these remnants, we compost them, returning valuable nutrients back to the earth. This process allows us to minimize waste further and contribute to the natural cycle, creating a sustainable system where each part of our production benefits the environment.
